Lunita Velasquez

Lunita Velasquez is a first generation American healing arts practitioner, mother, and writer raised biculturally on Kumeyaay land in Southern California near the Mexican border. Poetry and short story writing started at an early age, as an intrinsic medium to make sense of the world and the complexities of navigating humanness as a highly sensitive being.

“After completing a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 with Mosaic Yoga I knew that it was only the beginning of my exploration as a teacher. I had an immense desire to go deeper, to tap into the mystic realms of the Yogic path. My commitment to the work of healing has led me to sit with (and learn from) various authentic scholars, healers, practitioners, and lineage based wisdom keepers.

The pursuit of women's studies and integrated health has inspired me to travel to workshops, retreats, and personal development immersions in the USA, Mexico, and Europe.

Intersectionality, access, and inclusivity are integral to the heart of my offerings. I intend to do my part to decolonize the wellness industry, and teach in a way that seeks to re-pattern us from the oppressive lens of capitalist society.

My work is available at a sliding scale to all people of color, the queer and trans communities, mothers, and immigrants. I center a trauma informed approach and informed consent within every space I curate.”

Lunita will be offering a grounding and relaxing Yin Yoga based embodiment practice circle at our opening in person gathering to help us begin to soften into the shared journey.
